Eight NVMe M2 SSDs in RAID on X399 Threadripper Reach 28 GB/s

So some folks are have been playing around with eight NVMe M2 SSDs in RAID on X399 Threadripper. See, NVMe RAID support wasn't supported up-to the 25th of this month. I have not seen the new driver myself but some folks have been able to create a RAID array of eight NVMe SSDs.

Der8auer was one of then, yet the video was taken down. From the looks of it he created his RAID array on an ASUS X399 motherboard as the UEFI shows everything ROG. So that is the ROG Zenith Extreme. Two ASUS Hyper M.2 X16 cards combined with eight Samsung 960 PRO/EVO SSD show IOmeter transfer speeds in a excess of .... 28375.84 MB/s. That's the funky thing about Threadripper RAID, the platform has so many PCIe Express lanes that is actually is capable of pushing such numbers.

Daumn ! AMD team, get me sum of that please!

Why is there no link?
Why is there no test for 2
NVMe M2

?
No one will buy 12
NVMe M2

Der8auer just did. Making your statement invalid.

Also...
- Nobody will buy that horseless carriage
- Humans cannot fly
- It's not possible to go to the moon
- Nobody will ever need more than 640 KB of ram
- Nobody will ever use more than one video card
- Nobody needs 16 cores

This attitude is getting really tiresome...

This report is consistent with the mathematical predictions
we have been making for raw bandwidth using a similar
Highpoint SSD7101A-1:

1 x NVMe PCIe 3.0 lane = 8 GHz / 8.125 = 984.6 MB/second

4 x NVMe PCie 3.0 lanes = 4 x 984.6 = 3,938.4 MB/second

4 x NVMe SSD in RAID-0 = 4 x 3,938.4 = 15,753.6 MB/second

8 x NVMe SSD in RAID-0 = 8 x 3,938.4 = 31,507.2 MB/second

Aggregate controller overhead = 1.0 - (28,375.84 / 31,507.2) = 9.93% (call it 10% overall)

The only problem with this is
Samsung pro/evo is 3200/1500MB/s vs Corsair MP500 is 3000/2400MB/s
Cant see how the samsungs gets so fast..
