FidelityFX Super Resolution was announced yet cannot be compared with any DLSS game, well that is about to change, Edge Of Eternity will receive support for both rescaling technologies in the future, being the second game to confirm that it will have both options (The first was Necromunda: Hired Gun).

Midgar Studio Director Jérémy Zeler-Maury, who is the leading developer behind the game, unveiled what to expect from a quality comparison with the two technologies although the public version of the game does not have these technologies yet:

“In terms of quality, when there is a lot of pixel information available to resize to 4K, both technologies provide excellent results, and it has been difficult for me to notice the differences between them. I would even say that I slightly prefer FSR when using 4K resolution as it does not introduce artifacts or fading that can sometimes arise with DLSS. For downscaling to lower resolutions like 1080p or 720p, I think DLSS gives a better result as it can reconstruct parts of missing details thanks to the nature of the technique. "

Unfortunately, it is possible that it is an older version, as the current versions of DLSS 2.2 address artifacting challenges and blurring, resulting in a much better graphic quality. Which ought to surpass the FSR one.
