EDGE Memory Announces SE847 Value SSD Line

EDGE announced today the release of a new high-quality, value SSD line. The EDGE SE847 SSD line was designed exclusively for CDW customers, blending value and performance in an efficient, low-power package. Suitable for a wide range of systems, the SE847 provides instant performance enhancements.

“We are really excited about the SE847 SSD product line,” says Brandi Rocha, Marketing Manager. “The SE847 SSD provides all the performance and speed the average consumer needs at a price point that is more affordable.”

Utilizing a premium controller, the EDGE SE847 can achieve ultra-fast read and write speeds.  In comparison to hard drives, this solid state drive can cut system boot times by up to five times.  Fast read/write speeds, coupled with a high max IOPS rating, provide fantastic performance gains in boot times, file transfers, and software application loading.

A suite of security and durability features such as encryption support, T.R.I.M., S.M.A.R.T., and more, further enhance data efficiency and increase the lifespan of the drive.  All EDGE SE847 SSDs are TAA compliant and come backed by a 5-year warranty and expert U.S. support.

The EDGE SE847 SSD is available in a variety of capacities:  60GB / 120GB / 240GB / 256GB / 480GB / 512GB / 1TB.  Product is available for purchase today at CDW.  This week only (5/18-5/22), the 256GB SE847 is featured as the Deal of the Week at CDW for just $88.99.  Check it out today!

Meant for average consumer means not top performance.
Even while on sale it is only 25% cheaper than Vertex 460A. I do not think it is worth it.

Looking at some benchmarks, it gets speeds up to 500MB/s in many tests. I don't see anything wrong with getting something 25% cheaper with decent performance.

Noticed the 240GB/256GB and 480GB/512GB, they use different controllers under the same product, some from SandForce, others from SiliconMotion (256, 512 and 1TB).
