EA and Crytek Announce Crysis 2

by Thorsten Finck on: 06/02/2009 07:47 AM | source: | 0 comment(s)

It seems today is one of those days when the gaming news are just pouring in with no end in sight. Anyway. This one is probably an announcement many gamers were looking forward to for quite some time already. Today, Electronic Arts announced that it has agreed with Crytek to publish Crysis 2.

But not only that, Crysis 2 is the first game from German developer Crytek that is not only going to be released on the PC, but on PS3 and Xbox 360, as well.

"The development of Crysis 2 marks a major stepping stone for our studio," said Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli, adding "This is not only the next game in the Crysis franchise, it's the first title we are developing for consoles and the first title being built on CryENGINE 3. We are excited to have the support of EA Partners again as we work together to make the launch of Crysis 2 a huge event."
