It's official, the Elder Scrolls 6 is on its way, without a release date. Platforms for The Elder Scrolls 6 were not announced, nor was the game’s setting or theme.

Further details about the game are not yet shared. According to the developer, the game will not appear until another new game called Starfield is released. Rumors about a new Elder Scrolls have passed for some time, but until now the developer focused on new versions of Skyrim.

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim took players into the northlands of Tamriel. Previous editions visited the Imperial providence of Cryodill (The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion) and the dark elves’ homeland in 2002’s The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind. Suffice to say this game has probably been cooking for a long time, and yet we‘re likely very far off from a release date or anything concrete about what the game will actually look like. Still, Bethesda confirming that the game is indeed in development should be enough to get the legions of Elder Scrolls fans excited.

Bethesda showed a short trailer with a fantasy landscape, with the name The Elder Scrolls VI in the picture at the end.
