NVIDIA GeForce Game Ready Driver 531.79 Update: Redfall Optimization, DLSS Support & Crash Fixes. NVIDIA has launched the most recent version of its GeForce Game Ready drivers, numbered 531.79 WHQL.

This update ensures optimal in-game performance on the release day of Redfall, Arkane's horror adventure shooter featuring DLSS 3 technology. The Game Ready Driver also includes support for DLSS 2 technology in several other new titles, such as Showgunners and the forthcoming Diablo IV Server Slam event on May 12.

Users of RTX 30-series graphics cards have previously encountered application crashes in Battlefield 2042, The Last of Us, and the Unreal Editor. Today's patch notes reveal that these issues have been addressed in the new update. Furthermore, owners of Asus VG27WQ and Acer XV253Q monitors can now access the highest display refresh rate within NVIDIA's Control Panel app, an option that was reported missing around version 531.41.

Fixed Issues in this Release:

Application crash may be observed while playing Battlefield 2042/The Last of Us/Unreal Editor
Highest monitor refresh rate is missing from the NVIDIA Control Panel after updating to NVIDIA display driver 531.41

Open Issues:

Toggling HDR on and off in-game causes game stability issues when non-native resolution is used.
Monitor may briefly flicker on waking from display sleep if DSR/DLDSR is enabled.
In-game foliage is larger than normal and displays constant flickering
Watch Dogs 2 may display flickering when staring at the sky
Increase in DPC latency observed in Latencymon
Applying GeForce Experience Freestyle filters cause games to crash
Event Viewer logs nvlddmkm error at the end of the OCCT video ram test when memory is full
Small checkerboard like pattern may randomly appear in Chromium based applications
Dedicated GPU stuck at lowest clock speed when notebook is running off of battery
After updating to R530 drivers, certain GeForce RTX 40 series notebook models may randomly experience a TDR/black screen
Some monitors may display random black screen flicker when in Display Stream Compression mode when using R530 drivers
Cut scenes and videos show tearing and partial jitter
In certain languages, the NVIDIA Control Panel option is missing when right-clicking over the NVIDIA system tray icon
