The Vulkan runtime and loader have been updated to 1.1.121.0
As of the prior AMD driver AMD's own VLK version bundled with the driver installation was also updated from 1.1.108.0 to 1.1.114.0 and it's mostly SDK related but this new version does include a few changes to the loader itself.
(It's backwards compatible.)
New GPU assisted validation for VK_EXT_buffer_device_address. See the updated GPU Assisted Validation Whitepaper for more details.
VK_LUNARG_assistant_layer functionality has moved to the VK_LAYER_KHRONOS_validation as a new object. VK_LUNARG_assistant_layer is still included in this SDK but is now deprecated and will be removed in the next Vulkan SDK. Refer to the Best Practices documentation for more information.

vkconfig now includes the ability to configure the VK_LAYER_LUNARG_screenshot, VK_LAYER_LUNARG_devsim_simulation layers, and VK_VALIDATION_FEATURE_ENABLE_BEST_PRACTICES_EXT
Two new passes have been added to spirv-opt to automatically convert SPIR-V shaders to utilize RelaxedPrecision semantics. These passes allow the developer to take advantage of lower precision computations without having to make changes to the shader source. See the Relaxed Precision whitepaper for more details.
The loader will now check the API version implemented by a driver by checking the version in the driver's manifest JSON file. If the manifest file does not specify version 1.1 or later, then 1.0 will be assumed without further checks. This avoids a crash that could be present in old Vulkan 1.0 drivers.
The loader will now check that a driver found from the local machine registry actually corresponds to a GPU on the system. If it does not correspond to a GPU, it will be skipped.
Since the release of SDK 1.1.114.0, the following extensions have been added to the Vulkan spec and may be supported by a Vulkan device. To query extensions available to a given physical device, call vkEnumerateDeviceExtensionProperties() or run vulkaninfo.

The Radeon driver is the direct cause, as updating it rectifies the problem.

Looks good for us RX 5700 owners.
Can anyone test if HW acceleration now works without BSOD on firefox/chrome/opera with Navi cards?
Work fine with RX5700 since a while on Firefox since 1st day on the PC of my GF
