video still tear in fullscreen with freesync on, near top screen with normal playback speed multiple tear spot on high playback speed.
loading stage in Earth Defence Force 5 at 17 fps with amd overlay off. 60 fps with amd overlay on. that means more loading time with amd overlay turned off.
might be so for other games too.

why are you enabling freesync with a video? video fps is prolly outside the fs range

To enable free-sync in specific apps, first you need to enable it the general toggle in the screen panel of the Radeon Settings. And yes, this causes tearing on media player applications like MPC-HC and every other player based on it (eg:MPC-BE), even if the free-sync setting is toggle off in the specific application profile. So yeas, he is complaining because it is really annoying toggle every time you want to watch a video the general screen free-sync settings, because of this damn annoying bug (and that's not the first AMD re-introduced this bug).

Ahh, got it. The fact the per-app profile doesn't apply would be very annoying. I do this with NVCP for MPC-BE.

My freesync never turns on for video. What are you watching video with?
