AMD has just released a new driver update for its Radeon RX 6000 and RX 5000 series graphics cards, called Adrenalin 23.2.1 WHQL. This marks the first driver update in over two months for these series.

The update includes optimizations for "Forspoken" and "Dead Space" (2023) games, which can improve performance up to 7% at 4K resolution on an RX 6950 XT GPU. Additionally, the update introduces the IREE compiler, which uses the MLIR interface on Vulkan, as well as a few new Vulkan API extensions.

Furthermore, this update includes optimizations from the past two months that were previously only released for the RX 7000 series. This covers games such as Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered, Hogwarts Legacy, and other games released in the past six months. The update also addresses several issues that were previously reported, such as the "Delayed Write Failed" error on Windows 11 22H2, lower-than-expected performance on SpaceEngine, display corruption in the Points Shop section of Steam, and game crashes on Door Kickers 2, Baldur's Gate (Vulkan), Emergency 4, and Sea of Thieves. This driver update unifies the driver release trunk across multiple series, including the RX 400 series, RX 500 series, RX Vega series, RX 5000 series, RX 6000 series, and RX 7000 series.
