DOOM Open Beta April 15th

id Software has announced that there will be an open beta test for DOOM running from April 15th to April 18th.

These maps and modes are just a fraction of what players will experience when the game launches May 13th.

Support for DOOM doesn't end when the game is out. For the rest of the year, we expect to provide certain free content updates across SnapMap and multiplayer.

Along with free content, Doom will haves three premium multiplayer DLC packs following its launch. These will include "a number of new maps, hack modules, playable demons, weapons, and more." Each DLC pack will cost $14.99. A season pass will also be available for $39.99.

The first premium DLC pack are as follows:

Three new maps
One new weapon
One new playable demon
One new armour set
One new piece of equipment
New hack modules and taunts
New customization colours and patterns

Doom is due out for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC worldwide on May 13 - Beta info here.

Ah, the MP that can't work out if it's Doom or Quake.
The closed beta didn't feel good at all, just pretty boring.

it had 2 modes and the third mode was just a random match up of the other two.

It also only had 2 maps, 1 demon spawn, and a handful of weapons, and a level cap of 15.

Factor in the game will have SP around 15hours in length, multiple difficulties, tons of hidden areas (like all dooms), then you also have snapmap too which allows people to create there own levels and modes with some great features. The devs themselves use snapmap to create a level for the game then they export it to their main SDK and work on it at a deeper level.

The MP doesn't work anymore because of the reasons someone complained about above. Take any COD player and put them in an Unreal or Quake MP game and I bet they will get destroyed. Sorry that in these games you can't camp in a bush the whole match or just randomly lob grenades across the map to kill people.

Yeah because games like Half Life deathmatch consists of sitting in a bush or chucking grenades across a map, or maybe HLDM and games like that are actually fun. The new Doom isn't fun at all nor does it even look remotely fun.
