DOOM Eternal Revised Specs and launch dates

There is a new post from Bethesda with launch details for the shooter sequel, including when it unlocks in various territories. This also includes revised specifications which are a bit more modest than the previous requirements.



Here’s when you can expect to play DOOM Eternal on launch day on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC and Stadia. Note that DOOM 64 unlock times will mirror the unlock times for DOOM Eternal. DOOM Eternal launches on March 27 in Japan. The Nintendo Switch version of DOOM Eternal will launch later this year.

PlayStation 4:
  • DOOM Eternal unlocks at 12:00am midnight, in your time zone, on March 20
    • In North America, DOOM Eternal unlocks at 12:00am midnight ET on March 20
Xbox One:
  • DOOM Eternal unlocks at 12:00am midnight, in your time zone, on March 20
    • In North America, DOOM Eternal unlocks at 12:00am midnight ET on March 20
    • In Mexico, DOOM Eternal unlocks at 1am ET on March 20
PC (Steam and Bethesda.net):
  • DOOM Eternal will unlock for each territory below at the following times:
    • In AU/NZ/Asia, DOOM Eternal unlocks at 7:01AM Pacific Time on March 19 (12:01AM JST March 20)
    • In Europe and rest-of-world, DOOM Eternal unlocks at 4:01PM Pacific Time on March 19 (12:01AM GMT March 20)
    • In North and South America, DOOM Eternal unlocks at 9:01PM Pacific Time on March 19 (12:01AM EDT March 20)
Stadia:
  • DOOM Eternal unlocks at unlocks at 12:01 AM Eastern Time on March 20

Updated Retail Specs

There have also been some adjustments made to the minimum and recommended specs that are listed on the packaging of DOOM Eternal physical PC copies. Those changes are listed below:
Updated Minimum Spec (from what is printed on the PC box)
  • Removed Windows 8.1 as a supported operating system because it is no longer supported by AMD as of their most recent driver release.
    • Win 8.1 users with AMD GPUs will need to use driver version 19.10.1 to run the game successfully.
  • We’ve increased the resolution from 720p/60 FPS at Low Quality settings to 1080p/60 FPS at Low quality settings and have added in support for some 3GB and additional 4GB GPUs.
  • Added current gen NVIDIA GPUs that also meet the min spec performance requirements.
Updated Recommended Spec (from what is printed on the PC box)
  • We’ve increased the resolution from 1080p/60 FPS at High Quality settings to 1440p at High quality settings and have added in support for some additional GPUs at 1080p/60 FPS.
  • We’ve also reduced the system RAM requirements from 16GB to 8GB.
  • In order to hit higher performance targets, we removed the Ryzen 5 CPU and added specific i7 and Ryzen 7 CPU model numbers.
    • Recommended Specs listed on the PC box will still work as advertised
  • Added current gen NVIDIA GPUs that also meet the recommended spec performance requirements.
