After almost three decades since the release of the popular city-building simulation game The Settlers, its creator Volker Wertich is returning to the genre with Pioneers of Pagonia.

The game is currently being developed by indie studio Envision Entertainment and will be available for early access on Steam by the end of the year. In Pioneers of Pagonia, players will be able to build structures, create alliances, transport goods and explore the procedurally generated tropical islands of Pagonia. With over 40 building types and 70 good and production changes, players will have the freedom to build their own unique economies.

Early access to the game will also include a more prominent exploration feature, as players venture through the islands in search of treasure and hidden areas. However, players should be cautious as not all the island's inhabitants will be friendly. A co-op mode is also being planned for the early access period, allowing players to bring a friend along on their island adventures.

Pioneers of Pagonia will launch in early access on PC later this year with a full release date to be announced at a later time. Get ready to embark on a new city-building adventure in the tropical islands of Pagonia.
