by Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 09/11/2009 08:59 AM | source: | 0 comment(s)

Guru3D.com ImageBefore the official launch new details and photo's surfaced on the web regarding the Radeon HD 5870. Such an incredible amount of info is out there that we might as well post a little on this topic as well.

So the Radeon HD 5870 card seems to be just as lengthy as the 4870 X2 and comes with HDMI, Displayport and two DVI outputs. Some Chinese websites leaked completely specifications and photo's. The reports claim that this product has might have 1600 shader cores and is DirectX 11 compatible. The memory runs over a 256-bit wide memory bus. Since this is DDR5 in theory this could account for up-to say 150 GBps of memory bandwidth.

According to an Asian website the chip is fabricated on a 40nm fab resulting in a RV870-die at 330mm
