Dell to release U2715H Monitor with Ultra-Thin Bezel

Dell to release U2715H Monitor with Ultra-Thin Bezel

Dell is working to release a new 27" monitor with an Ultra-Thin Bezel, the monitor sits in their UltraSharp range and comes with a WHQD AH-IPS panel.  The U2715H looks like it will be a replacement for the U2713HM, as opposed to replacing the U2713H screen.

The monitor as stated is based on an AH-IPS panel with a 2560 x 1440 resolution. It has a 60Hz refresh rate at the IPS standard 6 – 8ms G2G response time (dependent on setting):

  • 1000:1 contrast ratio
  • 350 cd/m2 brightness
  • 178/178 viewing angles
  • W-LED backlight
  • sRGB gamut and 16.7m colour depth.

The monitor has 2x HDMI 1.4 ports (with MHL), DisplayPort 1.2, Mini DP 1.2 input and Mini DP 1.2 output. It also has five USB 3.0 ports (one with fast charging) plus 1x upstream and a 3.5mm audio output jack. Slowly phasing out, there are no VGA or DVI connections to be found with this model.

The Dell U2715H will launch soon in Europe and the US. The price is TBA but in but in Hong Kong it is available for give or take $850.  It will be a bit cheaper in the US and EU we think.

Finally a QHD with a proper design and stand. I hope it will be priced lower than 600 euros cause if they price it 800 in Europe it will be a massive fail. A 60hz QHD with the price of PG278Q is pure madness. Waiting for the official prices.

I wished DELL made some gaming monitors. I still love my U3011 but i would like a quicker response time.

Very nice.

I'm not a fan of TN panels at all (weak "purplish" blacks, poor viewing angles, washed out colours, etc.) but I am looking to upgrade from my 24" HP2475w IPS 1920x1200 monitor to a 2560x1600 one in the next year and this 27" looks like a really nice screen. The only thing I don't like about my current monitor is that the blacks can "glow" from certain angles but I believe that is because it lacks something called a polariser.

I need to check out big it is though as I have a height restriction for monitors due to my (long) worktop, that runs along the length of one wall, being directly under a double shelf that is the same length as the worktop.

I would love to buy an IPS display with a 120/144 Hz refresh rate though even if it was still 24" and 1920x1200. Are these even available yet?

Dell 30" U3014 (and i think this one ) have a "game" mode ..0ms input lag, it bypass all electronic.. ( you have only 3ms from pixel response time, doing of this monitor one of the best of the market on this sense. ).

3011 doesn't seem to have game mode: http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/dell_u3011.htm
