Dell to release attractive priced IPS screens

by Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 05/15/2010 05:02 PM | source: | 0 comment(s)
Dell will soon release the U2211H and U2311H, these two flat-panel monitors are the newest members of the UltraSharp series and do their best to merge a high image quality with a number of comfort design features.

The Dell U2211H and U2311H have a height-adjustable screen that can tilt and swivel, as well as the ability to pivot to landscape or portrait orientations. The panel itself uses the IPS (in-Plane Switching) technology, has a maximum resolution of Full-HD 1920 x 1080 pixels at 60 Hz, 16.7 million colors and a response time of 8 ms. The products also feature a very wide viewing angle, of 178 degrees to be exact, both vertically and horizontally, as well as extensive I/O options, including VGA, DisplayPort, DVI-D with HDCP and USB 2.0 connectors.

It should be noted that both models are EPEAT Silver, ENERGY STAR 5.0 and TCO 5.0 certified, which means that they will significantly reduce energy costs. Finally, the Dell UltraSharp U2211H and U2311H have screen sizes of 21.5 inches and 23 inches, respectively, and prices of 279 Euro and 299 Euro. They are already selling in Japan, the US and Asia Pacific, with availability in Europe slated for May 19.
