Dell releases 32GB memory version of its frameless lightweight notebook XPS 13

This is a new variation on Dell's "New XPS 13" featuring a thin and lightweight body and a 4-sided frameless design with a screen occupation ratio of 91.5%. The high spec specification with 32GB of memory, which was announced at the time of release in February, has been added to the lineup.

The outside is based on a CNC machined aluminum housing and carbon fiber or glass fiber palm rest. GORE Thermal Insulation offers efficient cooling mechanism that dissipates heat from a hidden exhaust port via a dual fan, heat sink, and hinges, provides excellent cooling efficiency while being extremely slim.

Successful miniaturization with a frameless design while making the screen larger than the previous generation. The display can choose 13.4 type FHD + or UHD + resolution glossy touch liquid crystal. The laptop uses a 10th generation Intel Core processor (Core i5-1035G1 or Core i7-1065G7), and the graphics adopts Intel UHD Graphics or Intel Iris Plus Graphics. The memory is LPDDR4-3,733MHz 32GB, and the storage is 1TB NVMe SSD.

In addition, the smartphone collaboration software "Dell Mobile Connect 3.0" has been released. The "XPS" series is also compatible software, and with the latest update, file transmission/reception and mirroring functions in iOS (iOS 11 or later), and MMS function in Android terminals (Android 6.0 or later) are now available.

I can see the frames and bezels on all four sides of the screen. What do they mean when they say "frameless" these days and why would it mean anything when it clearly means nothing?

I totally agree. What gimmicky name will marketing departments come up with once real frameless screens are release on laptops? XD

Most laptops/monitors have a plastic surround that the screen is then placed behind, xps for a number of years are glass to the sides, so although you can see black at the edges there is no actual plastic frame overlaying.

Hopefully I've explained that correctly

Ah, so the frame is still there, but it's behind the screen instead of in front of the screen. Thanks for the explanation. :)

But, honestly, who gives a shit? We want no frame visible at all, right?
