D-Link To Offer DIR-2680 Wi-Fi router (AC2600 802.11ax-router) Going For 11 Gb/s

D-Link is releasing their AC2600 Wi-Fi router powered by McAfee which get has parental controls, antivirus, real-time monitoring and more to help secure your devices. next, to that, it's a fast bugger as well as it is a 802.11ax-router.

The Wi-Fi router with 802.11ax will get an available (theoretical) throughput of 11,000 Mb/s. It's an accumulated value. AX11000 has three channels and 4x4 mu-mimo, which means that 1200Mb/s channels are used and each connected device receives a bandwidth of 4.8 Gb/s. That is a theoretical capacity of 11,000 Mb/s.

"We're on the forefront of preventing and fighting cybercrime as consumers need to feel safe and protected as cyber threats continue to rise," said John Giamatteo, executive vice president, consumer business group, McAfee. "Our partnership with D-Link helps consumers benefit from both increased connectivity and peace of mind knowing that their connected devices are protected."

McAfee's Global Threat Intelligence features adaptable machine learning that protects by preventing, detecting, and correcting malicious malware and attacks, which enables a safer internet browsing experience for consumers. Designed for families and smart home owners looking for the ultimate home networking without sacrificing privacy and security, the DIR-2680 keeps connected devices safer from unwanted intrusions and thefts. Additionally, comprehensive parental control features provide customized protection for children in the household. The DIR-2680 is easily set up with the D-Link Wi-Fi app and can be managed from anywhere with the McAfee Secure Home Platform app.

"As the number of connected devices in homes increases, consumers are increasingly concerned about online security threats. D-Link teamed up with McAfee and Intel to address these concerns with a powerful, easy to manage, all-in-one solution," said Anny Wei, D-Link president and CEO. "The new AC2600 Wi-Fi Router Powered by McAfee is our solution for consumers to help protect their homes and children from evolving online threats."

"As consumers bring more devices and connected activities into their homes, they expect reliable, secure connectivity," said Dan Artusi, vice president and general manager, Connected Home Division, Intel. "We are working closely with industry leaders like D-Link to develop solutions that make home networks faster, smarter and more secure to ultimately enable new immersive smart home experiences."

The DIR-2680 includes:

  • Setup via D-Link Wi-Fi app and remote management with McAfee app
  • Parental controls, downloadable antivirus software and real-time threat monitoring
  • McAfee's Global Threat Intelligence, which instantly blocks malware and malicious websites
  • MU-MIMO for fast simultaneous connections to multiple devices
  • Intel Home Wi-Fi Chipset, which allows 128 devices to connect at once

The extra security from an industry leader like McAfee is a big draw. You get a five-year license for parental controls and a two-year license for the McAfee software, which is better than most security routers. Keeping your devices and data secure is important today, so having a router like the DIR-2680 will give you a little extra peace of mind.

You can pair the router with an WIFI and LTE (4G) IP65 network camera as well, a Full HD unit at 1920 x 1080 pixels with infrared night vision and two channel audio. The 802.11ax router will be on the market in the second half of this year for $249.99. If you like the optional network camera, that one will cost $299.99, the dual-band router uses the McAfee Secure Home Platform, which automatically protects your network and devices.
