D-Link Launches DIR-X1560 and DIR-X1860 Value Targeted Wi-Fi 6 routers

D-Link introduces two new affordable Wi-Fi 6 routers. The DIR-X1560 and DIR-X1860 use the new Wi-Fi 6 standard and offer high speeds, greater capacity and less network congestion in, among others, modern smart home networks. 

The DIR-X1560 and DIR-X1860 are specially designed with the modern smart home in mind and offer seamless and reliable combined WiFi speeds of up to 1,500 Mbps and 1,774 Mbps respectively. Both routers can easily upgrade an existing home network to Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), the next generation for wireless networks. They are designed to accommodate the growing number of connected devices and devices in smart homes

The DIR-X1560 and DIR-X1860 offer dual band WiFi with up to four simultaneous streams. This allows for smooth 4K streaming, gaming or video calling. Both routers are fully equipped with many new technologies to improve the connectivity experience for users. These include 1024 QAM to increase throughput to all connected devices by up to 25 percent and also use 80 MHz for more bandwidth. Both routers have built-in power amplifiers and are equipped with the function beamforming to increase the range of a Wi-Fi network and prevent blackspots. All in all, they create one to four times greater capacity and make connectivity 38 percent faster.

MU-MIMO and OFDMA

Both smart routers feature the Multiple-User MIMO (MU-MIMO) and Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) technologies as an important part of Wi-Fi 6. OFDMA offers exceptional capacity by splitting a channel into four sub channels and supporting higher bandwidth and distribution of connectivity to devices. This prevents congestion and network queues.

Support voice assistance

The DIR-X1560 and DIR-X1860 routers are both also voice activated. Users can thus enable or disable access to Wi-Fi, check credentials or restart the system via voice-activated smart speakers, such as Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.

Users can install their new router via D-Link's special app. Once installed, they have many management tools and parental controls that allow users to customize network access for a safer Internet connection.

The new DIR-X1560 Wi-Fi 6 Router is available immediately for a suggested retail price of 115 euros. The DIR-X1860 Wi-Fi 6 Router will be on the market at the end of June for a suggested retail price of 120 euros.
