Cyberpunk 2077 hotfix Patch Prevents Corrupt Savegames

A day or so ago we reported that Cyberpunk 2077 has issues with savegames getting corrupt, due to an 8MB file-size limitations, which corrupted them.

Save games that are already corrupt cannot be restored. But a new hotfix is available now preventing that. Hotfix 1.06 also appears for the console versions of the game, although those versions do not have to do with corrupt savegames. According to CD Projekt RED, version 1.06 for consoles includes improved memory management and stability, which should result in fewer crashes.

It is a hotfix, a quick update that has been released to solve the problem with the savegames. CD Project RED has promised several major updates to fix bugs and improve stability.\

Hotfix 1.06 is available on PC and consoles! Here is the full list of changes:

Quests

Dum Dum will no longer go missing from Totentanz entrance during Second Conflict.

Console-specific

Improved memory management and stability, resulting in fewer crashes.

PC-specific

Removed the 8 MB save file size limit. Note: this won’t fix save files corrupted before the update.

Your loss. I'm on my 2nd playthrough. I feel bad for people who are avoiding this game because of what they are reading. <--That's the over-hype. It's not perfect, but it's still a fantastic game and easily my vote for overall GOTY.

This game might be good, but it's so buggy that I never experienced so much bugs in any game, yeah including Bethesda's games..
I'm kinda sad they cut so much of the promised features (I remember all of those interviews!), ah well maybe they will bring back some of them with updates and DLCs.
Glad that save corruption bug is fixed. too bad no fix for already corrupted saves.

I wonder how many of these patches were in the works before the game was put up for sale?

All of them probably. Remember that multiplayer is also planned for release after the 2 or more free DLC they have planned.

Also, while I do get a giggle watching videos of bugs in this game, I'd be lying if I said I've encountered many of them. A few bugs sure, but, there's a decent game in there tbh.
