Last week we reported that the game had 8 million pre-ordres, but the numbers now indicated that in total the game was sold more than 13 million times (by December 20). And that's including bug refund options.

The news came from the company's latest regulatory announcement, in an effort to relax investors and show that Cyberpunk 2077 is still off to a strong start – at least, as far as revenue is concerned. Pulling in 13 million sales just a few weeks after release puts it in great company, and the studio seems optimistic about its future.

Despite the seemingly positive sales numbers, CDPR has a legitimate reason to worry. CD Projekt investors are reportedly looking into filing a class-action lawsuit due to the developer supposedly misrepresenting Cyberpunk 2077 for "financial benefits." This would mean that the company broke an SEC rule that makes it unlawful to deceive a person or people during security transactions. Basically, the game is so broken that those who invested in the title are looking to get their money back.

"This figure represents the estimated volume of retail sales across all hardware platforms (factoring in returns submitted by retail clients in brick-and-mortar as well as digital storefronts), i.e. the 'sell-through' figure, less all refund requests e-mailed directly to the Company by the publication date of this report in the framework of the 'Help Me Refund' campaign," CD Projekt said in a regulatory announcement.
