Custom Radeon RX 5500 XT Cards Start listing at Etailers

Custom Radeon RX 5500 XT Cards Start listing at Etailers

Over in the land way east, in China, the first Radeon RX 5500 XT cards have started listing. AMD is set to launch the mainstream cards next week on the 12th, in an aim to tackle NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 1650 Super.

The product pages do not list specs or photos, however, 8GB is confirmed as you can read out from the names, meaning AMD will out 4GB and 8GB SKUs of the card series. I am afraid that if we look at pricing then we have little to be excited about, the 8 GB models start at RMB ¥1,499 including taxes, and that is just over $210 USD. So for the EU that could easily run towards 240 EUR.

Listed are cards from ASRock, Sapphire, Yeston, and XFX. Dates are threefold, pre-orders start today (5th December), it ships on the 12th and the earliest delivery would be the 15th of December depending on the region. China is a rather big country though, admittedly.

I just love the Google translation on that Sapphire Platinum edition, oh you'll laugh when you see it ;)

Here 1650S is selling below 200€. I don't know if the 8Gb is appealing enough to pay 40/50€ more, It sure isn't for me!
I'm gaming at 1080p, AMD better have a sub 200€ 4Gb version...

$210 for a 128 bit card? I don't think so. The 5600 XT is the only card in this segment worth taking a look at.

...and the story does not stop here:
we speculated that Radeon RX 5500 XT may actually be a rebadged non-XT version, as both cards would essentially feature the same specs. Today, we can say that is in fact confirmed.

The only difference is higher operating clock for the XT vs Non-XT but the same amount of Stream Processors.
It seems that AMD has difficulties to fully die Navi and it keeps the best silicon for apple.
