Cryptocurrency mining makes a move to RTX 3000 Series Laptops
Personally, I am not a supporter of Cryptocurrency mining. The amount of energy used for your digital currency is a plague concerning energy and power consumption. The amount of energy used is bigger than an entire country like Switzerland uses.
And that last example is Bitcoin alone. For just that reason, I feel cryptocurrency should be forbidden in a world where energy often made out of fossil fuel is simply immoral and just wrong. However, as long as governments do nothing about it, greed will take the upper hand.
if you wonder where GPUs end up ... the above charts are from the University of Cambridge, showing exactly that
The same greed is partly responsible for the shortages of graphics cards, as mining farms can have hundreds of cards in countries where energy is cheap. However, a new trend is laptops with a powerful GPU, and in this last case, the RTX 3000 empowered laptops from NVIDIA are now being bought and used to set up cryptocurrency mining farms.
A group dedicated to cryptocurrency mining uploaded a video showing its mining farm made up of hundreds and hundreds of notebooks equipped with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3000 graphics cards. The Chinese manufacturer Hasee, in charge of assembling these computers, does not seem to care in whose hands they finish their new notebooks. In the absence of stock of desktop GPUs, crypto mining decided to move over to the mobile segment.
Some might find the image below attractive, and I look at it with awe and disgust.

I am sorry to hear that you are having bad life in your country , but that does not give you the right to steal . Theft is wrong unless for example you are dying from starvation and you steal food to survive or to feed your child .
If 95% of the people don't agree with the government i am sure that something can be done about that .
You could say that all governments are stealing from the ordinary people ;-) .

I understand your point of view , I am just trying to imagine how will the whole cryptocurrency evolve further , I have watched this from the very beginning it’s very interesting to me but I can see the dangers not just the benefit.
I understand what The value of Bitcoin is based on and that’s my problem with it .
I hope this makes sense .
It is going to end up as any other bubble. Moment people are out of money to inflate this balloon, it goes flat.
Right now, regular people are out of money. And ones who pump are corporations. Same applies to stock market, housing market, ... When there is nobody left to inflate, it goes flat.
And one may ask, why are corporations buying it? Because they are full of those same naive (and often very young, progressive) people, who think that anything they touch goes up. And they already invested their own money, money they did borrow from banks.
Imagine biggest BS ever:
- poor guy scams out of banks a lot of money
- puts it into crypto curencies
- declares personal bankruptcy
- nobody can take from him those as nobody knows
- few years later, debt is erased (as it works in some countries) due to declaration of personal bankruptcy
- he pulls cash from crypto back to usable money
- gets more money than he would otherwise in his entire life
But that's what people are doing on many places. While believing that everything will play out and they are not going to go bankrupt.
