Corsair Partners up With UbiSoft on Far Cry 5, also Announces Unified Control Software
A double whammy from Corsair, they'll be bundling Far Cry 5 with purchases bigger than 150 USD. Secondly, they announced a release date for unified control software, e.g. all their products (keyboards, mice, headsets, fans and case lighting) will be controlled through one application opposed to CUE and LiNK separated.
Corsair will also be bringing custom PC and peripheral lighting integration to Ubisoft’s highly anticipated Far Cry 5. Set in America, a first for the franchise, Far Cry 5 offers players total freedom to navigate a serene-looking yet deeply twisted world as the new junior deputy of fictional Hope County, Montana. Players must join the local resistance to take down a fanatical cult by any means necessary, be it shotgun, slingshot, or semi-truck. Far Cry 5 players on PC will be able to experience a whole new layer of immersion via their CORSAIR RGB products, which will dynamically adjust to more than 35 in-game lighting interactions. Whether you’re exploring, being spotted by enemies, fighting for your life, fishing, or just watching the world go by, your entire CORSAIR setup will reflect the actions in-game.

“CORSAIR has become a major player in the PC components and peripheral market and will enhance the PC experience for Far Cry 5,” said Chris Early, Vice President of Partnerships and Revenue at Ubisoft. “PC has always been a key part of the series’ DNA and we’re happy to take in-game immersion to another level with CORSAIR’s new software integration.”
Compatible initially with CORSAIR RGB keyboards, mice, headsets, fans and case lighting, the first release of the new unified CORSAIR software will be available on March 27th, alongside the launch of Far Cry 5. Subsequent releases will add support for additional products from the CORSAIR portfolio. Additionally, CORSAIR will be bundling copies of Far Cry 5 with select CORSAIR RGB product purchases from the CORSAIR webstore of more than $150 between March 23rd and April 30th.

I have Philips Hue lights and I use an app in the windows store called hueDynamic and it works amazingly. I even have my pc hooked up to my 4k hdr tv and it still works, it also has the option to use a camera to capture the light source if you'd like. Philips is releasing a major update to their own app later this year that should incorporate all of these things as well as Razer Chroma products now also being able to sync with your hue lights

When I'm playing via TV I get to use Philips Ambilight. It works awesome and with everything that is on screen. It's 11 years old fullhd 42" model. I still wait for similar effects to come for monitors but thank god TVs at least are covered. Sadly ambilight is just on philips products so other companies need to come up with their own system but shouldn't be too hard. I also do not like blinking leds but light from behind the screen that just expands the immersion/vision? That I'm all in for.

I really hope they work out all the bugs with the unified corsair software. Link has been pretty decent for me lately but CUE is still problematic. It randomly locks up requiring me to restart it. Sometimes when I change profiles it will refuse to change until I restart it. I get DPI scaling issues with it. It's honestly some of the worst peripheral software I've ever used.
