We've been shouting for years now that SSDs need bigger volume sizes. Corsair has discreetly introduced an 8TB SSD variant to its MP600 Pro XT family of premium PCIe 4.0 drives and begun selling them in Europe.

Corsair's flagship storage products are the MP600 Pro XT M.2-2280 drives based on Phison's PS5018-E18 controller and Micron's 176-layer 3D TLC NAND memory. Corsair had previously marketed its MP600 Pro XT drives in 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB capacities, but last week German retailers began selling 8TB versions of these devices. Corsair's new 8TB MP600 Pro XT SSDs provide sequential read speeds of up to 7,100 MB/s, sequential write speeds of up to 6,100 MB/s, and random read/write IOPS of 1.2 million/950 thousand (see detailed specifications in comparison to other drives in the lineup below). While higher-capacity SSDs are often slightly slower than mid-range capacity setups, Corsair's MP600 Pro XT 8TB will still be one of the best PCIe 4.0 x4 SSDs available.

Pricing is still hefty at 1400 EUR.
