Update: Corsair MP600 PCIe Gen 4 M.2 SSD 1 TB to Cost € 249

The past few weeks we've seen a lot of PCIe Gen 4.0 related announcements. Of course, the dazzling numbers from SSDs at that speed do impress. We didn't know pricing just yet though, and it seems that Corsair spilled the beans, roughly 25 Cents per GB.

Expected in 1TB and 2TB, the MP600 units will be available by mid-July for €249,- and €449,- respectively. For comparison, the latest MP510 960GB is currently listed at €160,- when the model in 1920Bo is displayed at €320.  Exact specifications of the MP610 are not known, but Corsair listed 4950 MB/s and 4250MB/s in sequential reading and writing and from what we've learned, these numbers are actually below the real-world perf based on benchmarks.

Updated: the price indeed is confirmed at pre0order for 249 USD.

OK that's just way too much.
I was expecting around 10 to 15% higher cost at most.

This is early adopter gouging.

As is always of course, then any bugs ...

However it will be interesting to see what gains we get with this and AMD compared to Intel and previous generation. Will the combination be give more of a reason to jump to AMD than just if it was just the CPU alone.

Looking forward to the reviews coming up, it feels like treading water at the moment until the phony war ends.

It'll be interesting to see if PCIe Gen 4 NVMe drives can offer any substantial real world benefits over PCIe Gen 3 drives - I'm thinking not many.

Samsung has become the apple of the IT world. They are overcharging. There are other brands available that offer almost the same performance at a lower price
