Corsair Force 3 and Force GT v1.33 Firmware updates

Storage 785 Published by

In case you missed it, Corsair issued a pretty significant firmware update for their Force and Force GT series SSD. The firmware is at revision 1.33 with separated downloads per SSD volume size.

Corsair advises to run this update from Windows 7, and you should have AHCI mode enabled. Recommended is to upgrade only if you experience issues and obviously, be sure to make a backup regardless. Now I tried the new updates on three of my Force 3 and GT drives and the firmware did not delete any data, so my the Windows installation on these SSDs remained intact.

Change Log:

  • Fixed a rare condition when waking from slumber mode that could cause the drive to hang. This can cause a BSoD if the drive is the primary storage boot device.
  • Fixed a rarely occurring issue during S3/S4 cycling to handle marginal flash timing. This can cause a BSoD if the drive is the primary storage boot device.
  • Fixed an issue during a firmware update where APM would be marked disabled in identify.
