Core Temp is a compact, no fuss, small footprint program to monitor CPU temperature.

ct991.pngIntel and AMD published detailed, public information about the "DTS" (Digital Thermal Sensor), which provides much higher accuracy and more relevant temperature reading than the standard thermal diode sensors do. (How it works).

This feature is supported on all Intel Core and Core 2 based processors as well as the whole AMD's Athlon64 line of CPUs. For a full list of supported CPUs see the CPU Support List.

Core Temp also has a logging feature, allowing a user to easily record the temperature of his processor(s) over any period of time, then the data can be easily transferred into an excel datasheet for easy graphing.

Core Temp works on Windows 2000, XP and 2003 (both 32bit and 64bit versions). Windows Vista 32bit is fully supported.

Added:

  • Completely new code for processor speed detection.
  • A comprehensive processor information window (F3 or Tools --> System information).
  • Thermal protection mechanism. (Look at Options menu, changed from 0.99.5.20 beta)
  • Support for the latest AMD and Intel CPUs.
  • Mini mode for GUI. (Double click anywhere to switch between modes)
  • Per core temperature offset adjustment. (Look at Options menu)
  • Screenshots are now taken in the lossless but very compact PNG format.
  • User defined text colors for main Window. (Options --> Settings)
  • Show high/low temperatures. (Press F6 or the Tools menu to reset values)
  • On/Off switch for G15 applet in Tools menu.
  • Running several instances of Core Temp is now possible (enable in Settings).

Changed:

  • Temp turns Orange when temperature is over TControl, and Red when CPU is thottling/critical.
  • Reorganized menu.
  • TjMax for mobile Atom processors changed to 90C.
  • "Lion" codename for AMD Turion was changed to "Griffin".
