Core i7 9700K Overclocked to 5.30 GHz On Air Cooling (all cores)

You know that 8 cores / 8 threaded Core i7 9700K we mentioned yesterday? Well, it has been overclocked, and the fun news is that a mere simple looking heat pipe cooler was used to do so. The photos are a bit blurry but do tell a tale.

So basically this was posted at Expreview and an unknown guy (at least to us) was able to test the part, as mentioned on air-cooling. that 5300 Mhz he achieved was on all cores, and on-air that is something impressive alright. Like I stated, the photos are horrible as they are grabs from a 10-second video, but the key details can be seen, the model Core i7-9700K, it is an ES version of the CPU with a P0 stepping, 8 core 8 threads, 12MB L3 cache, 3.6GHz base frequency.

In the 10 seconds of video, you can see that he overclocked to 5.3GHz. It is 1.215V, close to the default voltage of Core i7-8700K. previous leaks already mentioned a possible 5500 MHz on liquid cooling. These are of course ES aka 'magic' vanilla samples, spread toa few overclockers by Intel to create a bit of viral activity.

Have a peek.
