Core i7 9700K Overclocked to 5.30 GHz On Air Cooling (all cores)

Core i7 9700K Overclocked to 5.30 GHz On Air Cooling (all cores)

You know that 8 cores / 8 threaded Core i7 9700K we mentioned yesterday? Well, it has been overclocked, and the fun news is that a mere simple looking heat pipe cooler was used to do so. The photos are a bit blurry but do tell a tale.

So basically this was posted at Expreview and an unknown guy (at least to us) was able to test the part, as mentioned on air-cooling. that 5300 Mhz he achieved was on all cores, and on-air that is something impressive alright. Like I stated, the photos are horrible as they are grabs from a 10-second video, but the key details can be seen, the model Core i7-9700K, it is an ES version of the CPU with a P0 stepping, 8 core 8 threads, 12MB L3 cache, 3.6GHz base frequency.

In the 10 seconds of video, you can see that he overclocked to 5.3GHz. It is 1.215V, close to the default voltage of Core i7-8700K. previous leaks already mentioned a possible 5500 MHz on liquid cooling. These are of course ES aka 'magic' vanilla samples, spread toa few overclockers by Intel to create a bit of viral activity.

Have a peek.

The 'key detail' is the temperature which is missing. :p But that 1.215V is impressive.

With out a doubt in my mind I am sure 5.3 Ghz is not running on 1.215V. This is probably the VID which wouldn't be accurate to what is being supplied. This is what the CPU wants for voltage at the current situation of the screenshot. This is not what is likely being supplied by the motherboard. Nonetheless, this is still an impressive result. I don't really expect this processor to OC much or any better than 8600K but that still is impressive for the 8 core to hit even near that. I hope the 9900K commonly hits at least 5.0Ghz+

I did post a leak weeks ago where i saw a UK based etailer post PRE-Binned 9900 9700 @ 5.4 but there was no other details.

So like usual it will be a silicon lottery unless you buy pre-binned chips. Usually they cost about 50-100 £ more.

if "we" are looking at this as most other leaks are "treated" here, this should come with an uncut video of showing the cpu info of the HS until its installed and booted up then benched.
outside that, it just shows "some" cpu info/pic.. :D
