Core i7 950 & 975 definitely on the roadmap

by Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 02/09/2009 06:06 PM | source: | 0 comment(s)
Last week we already showed you guys some proof of a far out overclocked (5.2 GHz) Core i7 processor with the name Core i7 975. Today Fudzilla enlightens us with the rumor that there will be a Core i7 950 as well.

The Core i7 950 would run at a steady 3.06GHz, roughly 130MHz faster than its 940 predecessor. The product would be at $562 in quantities of 1000.

The Core i7 Extreme 975 that we mentioned, will run at 3.33GHz, roughly 133MHz faster than its 965 Extreme predecessor, and will be priced again at $999 in quantities of 1000. We are not sure of the Core i7 940 & 965 will go End Of Life (EOL), we very much doubt that to be honest.

Of course you can also purchase a Core i7 920 and overclock it to the new speeds, relatively easy.
