Core i5 9600 Spotted - Coffee Lake Desktop processor to be positioned in Core i5 9000 series

A week or so ago we already reported that Intel might be placing Coffee lake based six and eight-core part in the 9000 series, that is now confirmed by Intel themselves.

Intel will house the new procs shared over the Core i5 (6-core) and Core i7 (8-core)line.  The processors all will be a series 9000 model and based on Coffee Lake architecture. A  microcode update guidance file reveals Coffee Lake S series featuring whats listed as 6+2 and 4+2 configurations, the models listed are:

  • Core i5-9600(K)
  • Core i5-9500(T)
  • Core i3-9100
  • Core i3-9000

That means it's confirmed that Intel will be using 8th gen processors in the 9000 lineups. What the 6+2 and 4+2 configuration means, is wide in the open. We assume the 9600K is a six-core part though with GT2 IGP.

there is no compelling reason to buy this cpu.
oh it will sell massively, but there is still no compelling reason to buy it. the corporate and oem sales will be the bulk of this I-5 series as well as people who know Intel, but not AMD imo.
it is over-priced, under-cored and runs hot with an ineffective cooling solution. but otherwise...lol

There's no compelling reason if you're a complete AMD zealot as seen here:

i have played with the engineering sample (under heavy scrutiny) of the 2900X.
chills went down my spine... and when i heard about advanced cooling support for the TR4, i got giddy.

Seriously? You're like the Chris Matthews of AMD fans.

dude what is your problems with truth and honesty?
and being like Chris Matthews is hardly an insult. a multiple NYT's best-seller, veteran prize winning journalist, and top rated tv host (who always treats opposing thought the same as any thought - if its logical. if not, i pity the fool).

you have some sort of weird politics, because if you're referring to the quote "i felt a tingle run down my spine", you are neglecting the truth. that was said in 2007, before the election of a two-term highly successful president, which most Americans wish was still president.

keep your weird-ass politics to yourself.

btw, i own Intel stock as well as AMD.
i even have a Kaby lake cpu along with Ryzen 2700x and Threadripper 1900x. i've bought every from single HEDT Intel
generation until the stupid release of the ridiculous i-9.

come talk to me about being an AMD fanboy after you've spent 5 figures on product and stock from Intel.
