Core i3 8300 with Four Cores and Eight Threads Spotted
We've stated a couple of times already that AMD is stirring up the market on every segment with a processor. The recent Ryzen 3 series for example are all quad-core processors, historically Intel always outted a 2-core model. Until now.
It seems Intel is prepping a Core i3-8300, as it has been spotted on Chinese forums with a screenshot, The interesting thing here is that it is a quad-core with hyper threading. this a 4:8 configuration. And that would be a direct response to AMDs Ryzen 3 alright, check the screenshots, as spotted by through the Anandtech forums at NGA.
Double the amount of cores/threads of the current Core i3 lineup if true (at least higher end models). That's Core i7-6700K level performance (if true).

I can see this being an i5, but not an i3.

Based off of these rumors. One would think the Pentium Chips will be come Quad core chips since the Pentium chips now are 2c/4t chips currently. I'm still waiting for Intel to release a mobile Laptop CPU with 6 cores like AMD did for that ASUS laptop the first one that got a Ryzen CPU. And leave the i3s 4c/8t considering the Current Pentium chips were pretty close to the current i3s in terms of performance excluding the 7350k.
If I were to upgrade right now I would get one of them 8 core Ryzen CPUs and call it a day. But currently I do not need an upgrade for several years considering how slow the software is progressing and only a few games use more than 4 cores. And the one of many things that use more than 4 cores outside of gaming would be Video Editing.
