Core 2 Duo E8700 arrives fashionably late

by Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 05/16/2009 08:44 AM | source: | 0 comment(s)

We talked about it a while ago already yet finally, the Core 2 Duo E8700 arrives fashionably late in the shops. Well at least one Asian e-tailer is apparently selling this processor. The E8700 will of course be the fastest clocked dual-core processor to date from Intel.

With a multiplier of 10,5 and an FSB at 1333 MHz the chip achieves a clock frequency of 3.5 GHz. The processor has 6MB L2-cache on board with a TDP of 65W. The E8700 is for sell here at this Chinese website for 1750 Yuan, roughly 199 USD.

That sales price however does not seem to be realistic with the E8600 selling for $269.99 USD, but we'll see.
