Cooler Master Outs GP27-FQS Mini LED WQHD Gaming Monitor

Cooler Master Outs GP27-FQS Mini LED WQHD Gaming Monitor

AHVA Ultra Speed IPS panel of this 27-inch 1440p 165Hz monitor is manufactured by AUO and boasts excellent color performance.

Cooler Master is commemorating its 30th anniversary with the Chronos Summit, a product presentation. Among the latest PC gear on show at the event was the Cooler Master GP27-FQS small LED gaming monitor. While the features and specifications of the GP27-FQS are outstanding on paper, its affordable price makes it the finest tiny LED gaming monitor available.

The Cooler Master GP27-FQS small LED gaming monitor is powered by AU Optronics' AHVA Ultra Speed IPS display panel with quantum dot technology. A 27-inch diagonal flat panel display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels is known as a QHD or 2K monitor. Cooler Master claims a 99 percent Adobe RGB and 97 percent DCI-P3 color gamut, so color performance looks to be excellent on paper. Aside from that, the maximum brightness of this panel is 600 nits in SDR and 1200 nits in HDR. The contrast ratio of the screen is 1000:1. The 27-inch QHD display on this model also supports DisplayHDR1000.

Quantum dot and tiny LED technologies are critical to the color performance of the display. Notably, this case's tiny LED illumination features 576 adjustable zones. With some panels delivering 1000+ or even 2000+ dimming zones, this is close to the bare minimum for a small LED screen. Manufacturers' roadmaps estimate that small LED panels with up to 15000 zones would be available by 2023. For additional information on tiny LEDs, see our evaluation of the Asus ProArt PA32UCX.

Gamers will appreciate the GP27-FQS's 165Hz maximum refresh rate and 1ms grey-to-grey response time. For a more fluid gameplay experience, Adaptive Sync is offered. Cooler Master has added low blue light and flicker-free settings, a USB hub, integrated stereo speakers, and a design for the rear cover illumination. It includes an adjustable stand but is compatible with any VESA 100x100 installation.

The Cooler Master GP27-FQS tiny LED gaming monitor has the same or very identical screen as the Agon Pro AG274QXM reviewed in October, but costs $699 - roughly $300 less than the AOC. Cooler Master offers a three-year warranty on its monitor.
