Computex 2017: ASUS ROG Rampage VI Extreme X299

ASUS just announced the mind boggling gorgeous ASUS ROG Rampage VI Extreme X299. This puppy has fantastic looks and hey even 10 Gbit Ethernet.

Intel’s new X299 platform and accompanying Skylake-X processors raise the bar for CPU and memory performance with up to 12 cores and 128GB of quad-channel DDR4 memory. And they add bandwidth for multiple graphics cards and NVME SSDs with up to 44 PCIe lanes through the CPU and even more from the chipset. It’s an incredibly potent platform we’ve used to push the cutting edge for gaming PCs.

The ROG Rampage VI Extreme X299 will be loaded with features that we'll look into at a later point, but I already mentioned 10 Gbit ethernet (Aquantia AQtion AQC107 10Gb ethernet controller), but also onboard dual-band Wi-Fi solution that supports the new 802.11ad protocol and is capable of theoretical tranfer rates up to 4.6Gbps.

The Extreme was designed for liquid cooling in mind and sees a pump headers and two flow headers that let you monitor the temperature and flow rate of your coolant. But what is amazing, simply are its looks. Have a quick peek at the photos. This board will be available in June alongside the new Intel processors.
