Computex 2015: OCZ shows budget Trion SSD and Z-Drive 6300 NVMe Cards
As always OCZ is present at Computex, this year with a booth. The focus primarily is to be found in their new Trion series SSD and some really cool stuff in the enterprise segment,
The Trion series is all about pricing really, in a very competitive market prices need to go down and down and down. As such this new SSD series is based on TLC memory from Toshiba. New in this range will be the actual controller that is based on an Alishan controller that is proprietary from Toshiba. We have yet to find out more about this controller though, but once it'll be released you can expect in-depth content in the form of a review here at Guru3D.com. The Trion series might be budget, but the performance isn't at a rates 550 Mb/sec with over 90K IOPS. Excellent stuff for any PC or laptop. Pricing is yet to be announced but we heard numbers in the 30 to 35 cents per gigabyte, which is really cheap. These SSDs are rated at 20GB per day and will receive a 3-year warranty with capacities at 120 towards 960 GB. There will also be a Radeon R5 series SSD based on this very sam Trion.
The XD-JX series M.2. form factor SSDs with the upcoming JetExpress controller also are on display. Intended for the prefessional market first and later on it'll be introduced into the consumer market. Check that photo, it's freally rated at 1600 MB/sec.
Also on display at OCZ is a new NVMe add-in card called the Z-Drive 6300 NVM Express. This puppy is intended for the enterprise market initially but will also make its way towards the consumer marketat a rated 6.4 TB capacity, we just gotta mention it. The PCI-Express add-in card will be avilable in 800, 1600, 3200 and even 6400 GB models, wowza. Oh and how does 2900 MB/sec and 700.000 4K Random IOPS sound ?
Have a peek at some of the photos alongside the specs on the photos, and be impressed. PCZ had some other stuff worthy for display as well.
