If you are my age, you probably have had a Commodore computer. Commodore computers had THE products to buy back in the mid-1980s. I 've had Commodore C16, 64, 128 and well I'll be honesty here, any Commodore Amiga you can imagine.

The products died after the OC revolution, the brand Commodore however was sold and sold and then sold again. Right now there is news, Commodore will return .. on smartphones. An Italian company that owns the Commodore branding has registered Commodore in 38 countries under Commodore PET using the original Commodore logo. To keep nostalgia at an all time high the smartphone will run the VICE C64-emulator and even Uae4All2-SDL Amiga-emulator.

Aside from the naming, this really is an Android Smartphone with 5.5" screen at 1920x1080 and Gorilla glass cover. The processor used is a Mediatek-octacore with 1,7GHz clocks and a Mali T760-graphics unit. At the backside you will spot a 13mp camera, at the fron an 8mp camera. There will be two models, one with 16GB storage capacity and 2GB RAM. There will also be a 32GB storage and 3GB ram version. The models cost 275 and 330 EURO respectively.

The Commodore smartphones will be introduced in Italy, France, Germany and Poland first, other countries will follow.

Nostalgia people ...
