Cinebench R20 download taken offline after legal threat from Maxon
We have been happy to report that Maxon released a new revision of its CineBench benchmark Release 20. Unfortunately, Maxon has made a legal threat against Guru3D.com and is forcing us to take the Cinebench R20 download offline.
Maxon Computer GmBh will only allow the download of Cinebench R20 through UWP (Microsoft Store). Though we strongly feel that this is a community tool which belongs in the public domain we obviously totally need to respect what the publisher deems appropriate for them. It’s unfortunate, but it is what it is.
You can download Cinebench R20 through the Microsoft Store through this link.

Pfft, stop being so crybabies and barbaric some of you people for real.
Many of you here and anywhere else, you use, google play store and apple app store. Why always MS store, or others are the devil ones? You are tiring me.
Alright let's cool it down now. No need to throw names around.

I don't know...seems like less of a hassle for installing. Just click one button in the Store and it's installed. On the other hand not a big fan of exclusivity for no reason. However I'm sure they've, like all the rest, defined distribution rights which they can change without notice. And of course it is the responsibility of the host, in this case GURU3D, to ensure what they are sharing is done with permission, just as it has always been. There's nothing personal about it, just business for the Benjamins.

It's like when i have issue with net bandwith few week ago (the main net dispatcher of the city were flooded...).
I phone to the provider... they ask me to go and download on M$ Store "speedtest"...
I have explained them that i am on Linux, and that "speedtest" can be used as a service with any net browser. They told me then that only result from the app from M$ store were reliable...
(since when? )
I know, i know... i could have told them my result making them think it was from the app, or use my other computer... but i don't like to be forced to use something that i don't need if here is another more simple way.
So they send me a "Specialist" the day after (lol)... he doesn't know what is a "switch" or a "PC using linux" and ask me to start M$ store (... just lol ...).
At the end he go to search a laptop (1h wasted) run the "speedtest" from M$ Store... And found the exact result that i had the day before he came.
Pushing to use M$ store is push companies to be un-professional (like this "specialist" ou like Capcom: Ms Store allow Resident Evil biohazard to install the game on any drive, but the DLC only in C:\ in the same path of the game (yes they have done it) and it was never fixed, hopefully there is a "not so legal way" to correct this (without the store).
M$ Store is a good idea but if it's like google store, a way to chain customer... then no thank you.
I have never launched the MS store, don't think I ever will.

By no longer using it anymore maybe?
It's really sad that techsites are getting legal threads. It say's a lot about the company (Maxon) behind it.
Maxon should be thankfull sites like guru3d are essentially freely spreading advertisement software, legal threats is a weird way to say thank you.
They dont rly care, if it was a paid software, ok, they would lose money, but boycot something free is just a loss for us.
I honest say is stupidity.
