China takes action against cryptocurrency mining, cryptominators ditch Radeon and RTX cards for 300 Euro

China takes action against cryptocurrency mining, cryptominators ditch Radeon and RTX cards for 300 Euro

In China, miners are shutting down and shifting their activities with crypto-monetary mining. The local market is now saturated with AMD and Nvidia second-hand graphics cards.

There are also numbers not tiny, although occasionally the minimum purchase size is 100 units. For example, the RTX 3070, for over € 330, is sold in these numbers, while the cost of 3060 and 3060 Ti correspondingly is € 245 and 310. Although at the first sight these prices seem favorable, these video cards have been extensively utilized for lengthy periods of time for crypto-mining, which presumably has substantially reduced their life expectancy.

Ahahaha, you're crazy dude

At least she has experience on her side, just sit down and relax, she'll know what to do :D

Yeah and what if she break from all that usage? :D

Either that porn star is already wasted/broken when one marrys her or she's still in a good shape and gonna last in relaxed 1-on-1 "battle" for years to come. Experience is what one is gonna get, huge plus in my book, don't underestimate experience :D

On a serious note if story above is true for 100+ quantities of those cards I'm expecting prices should be even lower.

I can't emphasise this enough: miners depend on stupid people to buy the cards from them to get money back. If no one buys the cards for more than residual price (I wouldn't spend more than 100€ for a used 3070 at this point), that limits their business and they are left with the stock of cards they bough and without funds to buy the RTX 4000 or 5000 or whatever is on the market at the next Ponzi scheme.

Plus: all the cards have been used 24/7 and have at least 4 to 5 times normal usage on them reducing life expectancy. Are you paying 300€ for a 3060 to burn out after a couple months? Nah, don't be stupid!
Some cards may be repairable, and that's why I'd be willing to risk 100€ for a working 3070: if it fails, I'll try my luck with repair.

I still have a year left out of my extended 5 year warrenty for my Zotac 1080 mini, so i still have some time to see how the video card market goes, but these days i won't touch the second hand card market anymore.
