CES: Razer shows off Wii like PC Controller - Sixense

by Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 01/09/2010 06:13 AM | source: | 0 comment(s)

Razer is working really hard on a new Wii like controller set for the PC pending a release in Q3 this year. The PC motion controller from Razer is called the Sixense. By means of a an electromagnetic field sent out from a transmitter, the two-controller set up is able to create a precise replication of on-screen movements.   Furthermore, the technology can also support gesture-based commands, and more remarkably can detect position in space along six axes.

This motion controller is developed in cooperation with Valve, and in fact L4D was used to demonstrate the really funky controller. We tried it out, and though weird .. I can tell you .. it is reeally immersive.
