Saber Interactive (who adapted the original game for Switch) was in charge of the project until recently, when it was handed over to CD Projekt RED's in-house teams. This shift in the development process could be attributed to the tensions between Russia and Ukraine, as Saber Interactive's primary studios are located in both countries. When the adjustment was announced, CD Projekt RED said that it was not the result of any potential issues with the project's development.
