Both AMD Ryzen 5 2600X and and Ryzen 7 2700X Spotted In GeekBench

Both AMD Ryzen 5 2600X and and Ryzen 7 2700X Spotted In GeekBench

Earlier on Youtube User Tum Apisak already posted a screenshot of what seems to be a Ryzen 7 2700X processor in the 3DMark database. Today we can report that both the Ryzen 5 2600X and Ryzen 7 2700X have been listed in GeekBench, in full glory.

The screenshot reveals pretty much all we need to know and expect about the 12nm Zen+ update and leaves little else to say. So let's keep things simple and understandable and compare the 2700X towards the 1700X. With the base clock raised you should see some better single core performance, and combined with a Turbo to 4350 MHz, things would look pretty good. I can only assume that XFR remains active as well, which could boost another 100 MHz also.

We'll focus on the 8c/16t Ryzen 7 2700X though, as it scored a 4746 single core and points on the 24772 multi-core, compared to the Ryzen 7 1800X that is pretty enticing with its 4250 and 21980 scores. From the looks of it, the 2700X could have an XFR of 100 MHz on top of a 4.35 clock frequency. The motherboard listed is the ASUS ROG Crosshair VI Hero motherboard (X370) with it's memory clock at 2400 MHz (16GB). Ryzen 7 2700X runs a default base frequency of 3.7GHz, a turbo to 4.35 GHz and perhaps another 100 MHz for XFR (but that last one is uncertain).

Ryzen 5 2600X

The Ryzen 5 2600X is listed on a PRIME X370-PRO with 16GB DDR4 memory running at 3200 MHz. 4781 points and 22235 on the multi-threaded score. Here we have to assume these are overclocking results due to the high scores. However, this proc has 6 Cores, 12 Threads. So that's a mighty fine score alright.

Ryzen 2000 are 12nm Zen+ optimized Ryzen processors, the 'refresh' SKUs so to say. 12nm Zen+ processors will work with your X370 chipset based motherboard, however, AMD will launch the new X470 chipset alongside the new Zen+ processors. The new chipset should offer small improvements and use less power. AMD will release the new Zen+ processors in April. The clock frequencies match the leak on Full AMD Ryzen 2000 lineup and X470 chipset details, the ones with the weird NDA date).

AMD Ryzen 3 1200 Summit Ridge 4 4 3.1 - 3.45 GHz 65W 109

On the chipset side of things, AMD will release the X470 and B450 chipsets, based on AM4. The new X470 would be better optimized for high-speed memory and offer optimized VRM dan power management as well as offering support for XFR2.

The 2700X seems to be running with only a 2400MHz memory strap, while the 2600X has the mem at 3200MHz ..

Oh my that's a mighty increase in performance for what is basically just a refresh on a smaller node. Could we see 4.5Ghz with a bit of a tweak and some memory close to 4000Mhz??? I can only see AMD CPUs standing proud next to Intel CPUs. Well done to the folks at AMD!

In the first paragraph 'Ryzen 7 2600X and Ryzen 5 2700X' i think youve accidentally swapped the positions of Ryzen 5 and Ryzen 7 :)

very nice results on the 6 core i really thought they would go beyond 3200mhz memory speeds though
