Borderlands 3 system requirements and graphics options

If you want to get the most out of your machine and maintain smooth framerates with tons of graphics settings turned up, here's a handy list of recommended specs, featuring AMD Ryzen and AMD Radeon hardware, that's right ...  making this an exclusive AMD sponsored title.

Yesterday, 2K announced the system requirements for the PC version of its highly anticipated sequel, Borderlands 3, which is optimized to deliver stunning visuals and immersive, high-performance gaming on AMD Radeon graphics cards. Borderlands 3 PC gamers will need to be running Windows 7, 8 or 10 with the latest service packs installed, and have 75GB of HDD space. Specifications include:

MINIMUM SPECS 1080p Gaming

  • OS – Windows 7/8/10 (latest service pack)
  • Processor – AMD FX-8350 (Intel i5-3570)
  • Memory – 6GB RAM
  • Graphics card – AMD Radeon™ HD 7970 (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 2GB)
  • HDD – 75 GB

RECOMMENDED SPECS 1440P Gaming

  • OS – Windows 7/8/10 (latest service pack)
  • Processor – AMD Ryzen™ 5 2600 (Intel i7-4770)
  • Memory – 16GB RAM
  • Graphics card – AMD Radeon™ RX 590 (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB)
  • HDD – 75 GB

Borderlands 3 is optimized for AMD Radeon graphics cards, including ones based on the new RDNA gaming architecture, providing breathtaking visuals, amazing performance, ultra-responsive, silky smooth gameplay, and exciting features, including:

  • Asynchronous Compute – Allows Radeon GPUs to execute multiple tasks at the same time. This GPU multithreading capability enables efficient graphics and visual effects workload distribution, resulting in higher framerates.
  • AMD FidelityFX – Offers a dynamic sharpening filter to draw out detail in low-contrast areas for a sharper gaming experience. It provides a pleasing improvement in image clarity, counteracting the softening caused by other post-process effects.
  • AMD Radeon FreeSync 2 HDR Technology – Radeon FreeSync is the most popular adaptive sync display technology available, with over 750 supported monitors tested and certified to deliver fluid, tear-free, artifact-free gaming. FreeSync 2 HDR introduces a new dimension of vibrancy to screens by enabling darker blacks and brighter whites without oversaturation or clipping.
  • Multithreading of Command Buffers – Ensures more traffic from the AMD Ryzen processor reaches the AMD Radeon graphics card faster for higher performance, better graphics and reduced latency.

In before people start complaining about Epic Ga---- oh... nevermind; too late.

On a serious note, odd change of pace. Borderlands 2 for example seemed to be more of a Nvidia title (particularly because of PhysX support).

PFFFFF, wont be giving these money grabbers any of my hard earned.
Gearbox Studios say "We've chosen epic store so we can offer better value for money for our customers" what they really mean is we charge even more money for this pos and because Epic take a smaller cut we make even more money from these sheep. £50 for the basic game is £20 too much. I might spend £50 if it was for the full game with all DLC packs and tbh the last borderlands was so poor compared to its predecessors, i expect this will only get worse

Maybe they want to recover from damage done to franchise name.

Not sure how supporting AMD hardware would do that? And as far as I can see, the Borderlands franchise is still pretty strong - it's still the gold standard for looter-shooters.
