BitFenix updates Prodigy M 2022 chassis and Alchemy 3 sleeves.
The groundbreaking compact form factor case has been reintroduced. BitFenix has revised the Prodigy M 2022 and Prodigy M 2022 ARGB, maintaining the sleek appearance while introducing some new functions. In addition, BitFenix has released a new set of Alchemy 3 sleeved cable extensions.
The Prodigy M 2022 sports almost identical looks to the previous models, with the carrying handle design, an almost cube-like shape, and an overall clean design. Finished in black and white, you’ll still find the I/O and USBs on the front side, a mesh front panel with chrome BitFenix logo, and the mesh top panel.
BitFenix FyberFlex Composite Handles (and Feet)
The new BitFenix FyberFlex Composite handles and feet of the new Prodigy M are in keeping with the original design, but offer a more strengthened design – with a durable 1mm thick metal to help keep the overall chassis rigid and free from deforming. They also have a new matte coating for an even long durability, and to make the whites brighter and blacks deeper for a more premium look.
Side Panels
The old windowed side panel has been swapped to a 4mm thick full tempered glass window, allowing you to display more of your components and offer a more premium finish, and come with a small colour-matched printed lip around the edge of the window. On the other side of the case, you’ll find the front I/O, which includes a single USB3.2 Gen 2 Type-C, two USB 3.0, separate audio in & out, reset & power.
Hardwadre & Cooling
BitFenix have kept the mini-ITX and micro-ATX motherboard compatibility. The motherboard tray is a traditional vertical mount and has a large cut-out for backplate mounting. Behind the motherboard tray is mounting points for the hard drive bracket, which can support up two 3.5” drives or three 2.5” drives – with two more locations in the bottom of the case should you need them. Graphics cards clearance allows for up to 339mm in length, so the latest graphics cards can be installed. BitFenix have two installation points – either horizontally at the top of the case, or vertically at the bottom of the case. To vertically mount your graphics card, simply switch out the rear grill to the vertical GPU bracket – note, the vertical GPU bracket only supports 2-slot GPUs. If you’re running your GPU in horizontal mode, you can choose to swap out your top panel. There is a mesh panel, for more airflow, or an acrylic panel to display your hard earned graphics card.
As for cooling, you can install CPU tower coolers up to 190mm in height. As for fans, the Prodigy M 2022 supports up to 2 × 60mm or 1 × 120mm fans in the front, a single 120mm fan in the rear, 2 × 120mm fans in the bottom, and 2 × 120/140mm in the top. Radiator support is a single 120mm radiator in the rear and a 240mm or 280mm radiator in the top.
Included with the Prodigy M 2022 are a 60mm fan in the front and a 120mm fan in the rear. The Prodigy M 2022 ARGB has the same support but includes a single 120mm ARGB fan in the rear and two 120mm ARGB fans in the bottom.
The Prodigy M 2022 ARGB also comes with two 30cm ARGB LED strips with two cables, and includes SE Controller & SE Remote for the ARGB lighting and fans. BitFenix state that the ARGB is also able to be connected to motherboards with 3-pin 5V sockets with support from ASUS Aura Sync, MSI RGB Mystic Light Sync, Gigabyte RGB Fusion, and ASRock Polychrome Sync.
Alchemy 3 Multisleeved Cable Aluminium Combs
BitFenix’s new Alchemy 3 include a variety of cables including:
- CPU 4 pin, 8 pin, and 4+4 pin – all with 2 × aluminium combs
- 24 pin – 2 × aluminium combs

These are available in black or white, and use ultra-dense sleeving without heat-shrink, for a super-premium and clean finish, with precision molded connectors, with pure copper strand cables inside up to 18AWG.

The horizontal position was only in the regular BitFenix Prodigy, which is/was strictly for Mini-ITX boards. The Prodigy M is their MATX form factor case, which wouldn't fit horizontally in the same footprint.
