One is vertical and seems to be by the HDMI port. The other is in the backside of the mobo.

Yep. What he said. the vertical M.2 slot is tucked away on the business end of the mobo, right behind the HDMI port on the IO panel. The U.2 is on the reverse of the mobo.

It's right behind the IO panel, right up against what appears to be an LED laden heatsink...where it has the potential to short out M.2 cards from the looks of things...
