Biostar Racing X570GT8 (Ryzen 3000) Motherboard Photo and Specs

Perhaps Biostar was a bit envious after the MSI tease, so here is their "Racing X570GT8". This is the first actual real photo of X570, the new chipset for ZEN2 / Ryzen 3000.

Looking at the motherboard you can see a powerful VRM, likely to deal with the rumored 16-core proc. The board draws juice from 8+4 pin EPS connectors and the leaked PDF reveals a 12-phase VRM. The usual suspects are there, two metal-reinforced PCI-Express x16 slots and yeah, that would be PCI-Express gen 4.0. Memory support is listed up-to 4000 MHz btw, there are three PCIe x16 slots and one PCIe x1 slot on board. In terms of connections, we see one gigabit Ethernet port and one DVI display connection. Finally, this data confirms that the X570 chipset supports fourth generation PCI express / PCIe 4.0. We will probably find out more during Computex. An active chipset cooler (fan), I have not seen that in a while. Hope it's not a trend.

Apparently some insiders have said that the X570 chipset has serious heat issues under certain workloads, so expect a majority of boards with a chipset fan. Supposedly its going to be a real issue on low-end boards, where a fan might be too expensive, so they might just let it overheat and throttle.

I can't imagine low-end boards showing enough demand to cause thermal issues at all. Although the X570 is a substantial upgrade over the X470 and X370, I imagine the B550 will probably have specs similar to X470. I don't see how it could be possible for the B550 to be packed with so much more stuff that it would have thermal issues over a fully loaded X470.
The only reference point I have is my X370 board. The chipset heatsink is puny and I've never seen it exceed 40C.

A of lot bitching about the fans that all the top end boards will likely have, but i bet you wont like it when you throttle with your 12-16 core system. :L

As usual, let's wait and see. We could predict, extrapolate, and talk a lot before.
But when we will have the actual thing running in Guru3D labs, we will read Hilbert's review and we will decide then.
