BenQ will release a new 27" model from their  XL series of gaming monitors. This new model will be the first in their range to offer a 2560 x 1440 resolution TN Film panel. The other selling point is the support for 'Adaptive-Sync' variable refresh rate technology.

Similar to NVIDIA's G-sync offering, this solution requires an AMD graphics card with 'FreeSync' support instead. It will dynamically control the refresh rate up to the maximum 144Hz supported, helping reduce issues associated with running traditional V-sync options, either when on or off.

Spec wise the 27" panel offers a 2560 x 1440 resolution, 1 ms G2G response time, 144 Hz refresh rate, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 350 cd/m2 brightness and 170/160 viewing angles. The screen offers a true 8-bit colour depth and the W-LED backlighting provides a standard sRGB gamut. The screen is also flicker free as with all BenQ monitors now, and features their Low Blue Light modes as well. In other positive news, the Blur Reduction feature (now v2.0) is also provided (not compatible when using Adaptive-Sync) and now offers built in options to control the strobe position and duration. The stand offers a full range of adjustments and the familiar S-switch is included again as an accessory. Connectivity is not listed yet although DisplayPort will be needed for Adaptive-sync to work.

No word on price or availability yet.
