Updated news item:

The BenQ EW2770QZ features a 27” WQHD (2560 x 1440) IPS-type panel, AU Optronics AHVA (Advanced Hyper Viewing Angle) part with a 60Hz refresh rate and luminance of 350 cd/m² with 178/178° viewing angles. The monitor is fitted with 2 HDMI 1.4 ports and DP 1.2. B.I.+ customizes EW2770QZ’s display output to protect viewers’ eyesight and deliver optimal picture quality.

“EW2770QZ is the ultimate next-generation luxury display device,” said Conway Lee, President of BenQ Corporation. “It combines today’s state of the art - high resolution, IPS technology and sRGB color performance – with tomorrow’s demands for dynamic picture quality and eye health protection.”

BenQ, internationally renowned provider of digital lifestyle devices, introduced today announced the EW2770QZ premium entertainment LED monitor, a 27-inch QHD (2560x1440) IPS display with exclusive Brightness Intelligence Plus Technology (B.I.+). Utilizing an innovative light sensor to detect ambient brightness and color temperature levels, B.I.+ customizes EW2770QZ’s display output to protect viewers’ eyesight and deliver optimal picture quality.

Simultaneously detecting the intensity of displayed content, EW2770QZ also adjusts brightness to ensure bright scenes avoid overexposure while dark scenes preserve subtle details and clarity. Even when brightness is dimmed, B.I.+ enhances color hue and saturation to maintain absolute color accuracy and smooth gradation quality.

EW2770QZ delivers the utmost picture quality of 2560x1440 QHD resolution. For mesmerizing entertainment and movie-watching experiences. Showcasing its wondrous wide-angle IPS panel, EW2770QZ renders 16.7 million distinct colors with its true 8-bit color depth for realistic color quality with silky-smooth transitions and pristine image quality. This inspirational color performance spans 100% of the wide sRGB color gamut for consistent and accurate reproduction of authentic content.

Complementing the viewing comfort provided by B.I.+, EW2770QZ provides flicker-free and low blue light performance. Flicker-free technology eliminates flicker-induced eyestrain and vision damage, and low blue light mode filters harmful blue light in successive stages depending on content to prevent eye fatigue and irritation.

Fashionably styled with minimalist bezels for expansive edge-to-edge visuals on all four sides, EW2770QZ is also VESA wall mountable, features integrated speakers, and supports both HDMI and DisplayPort.

Always liked Benq monitors. The light sensor is a good idea, still think its strange this relative simple tech has not been implemented earlier, its great for TV's to.

To bad its only 60hz, for any use, higher refresh rate has benefits. Just draggin the mouse on desktop looks and feels so choppy on 60hz.
