BenQ BL2711U to release Ultra HD AHVA Panel

BenQ is releasing a 27" screen in their BL series, making use of a "4k" UHD AHVA (IPS-type) panel from AU Optronics. The BL2711U offers a 3840 x 2160 resolution at 60Hz refresh rate, and a range of specs and features you might expect from a high end BL series screen. It is aimed primarily at CAD/CAM users.

Spec wise the panel offers a 4ms G2G response time, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 300 cd/m2 brightmess, 178/178 viewing angles, 1.07b colour depth (10-bit) and standard sRGB gamut from its W-LED backlight. The screen is flicker free as with all BenQ monitors now which is good news. There is also BenQ's Low Blue Light mode, and PiP (Picture in Picture) and PbP (Picture by Picture) functionality is included. The stand offers tilt, height, swivel and rotate adjustments and the screen is VESA mountable if required.

Connectivity wise both the DisplayPort 1.2 and HDMI 2.0 ports can support the 3840 x 2160 resolution at 60Hz refresh rate. There is also DL-DVI and HDMI 1.4 offered along with 4x USB 3.0 ports. There are also 2x 3Wstereo speakers built in to the screen.

Always skeptical of 4k displays less than 30" size. The ppi is high enough on 27" 1440p which makes it a more practical res. 4k must be a lot of trouble making text readable (DPI @ 150% or more) and putting up with apps that dont scale properly. Definitely enthusiastic about 4k though, but only at 30" and above.

I contacted them a month ago and they said it will be out by the end of last October. still no word but they're working on it for sure.

I hope they price it reasonably to compete with the Asus Swift. it would also be nice if they use the new sleeker design of the XL2430.

Thanks for the info. It's simply a matter of waiting for it to be released and shortly after reviewed.

And it would be nice for a slim if not almost invisible bezel...
