EA announces Battlefield V next Wednesday (updated)
On May 23 the next entry in the Battlefield series is (likely) to be announced. An Easter Egg in Battlefield 1 already indicated a reveal date. Battlefield 1 fans discovered an Easter egg in the game that was a message written in Morse code that revealed: "Battlefield will never be the same" along with the May 23 date.
“With our next Battlefield game, the team at Dice is bringing the intensity of combat to life in new and unexpected ways,” said EA CEO Andrew Wilson. “Every battle is unique, and every mode brings its own challenges – from the way you interact with the environment around you, to compelling single-player stories, to the next level of large-scale multiplayer that spans across multiple maps and modes.
“This will be a deep and fully-featured shooter and ongoing service that will evolve with major new experiences for our community, beginning right from launch. This new game will advance the state of the art for the franchise, while still delivering the signature gameplay and Battlefield moments that have captivated and grown our global community.”
Update: The EA hype-train has started, easter eggs, and announcements and virals about announcements. However it is now confirmed, EA will announce Battlefield V next Wednesday (23rd), which is now confirmed by the publisher. The announcement was made via a live stream Wednesday evening via YouTube and Twitch.
"On the 23rd of May we will reveal your next trip to the total war", states the Battlefield website.
Last week, thanks to a long-hidden in-game Easter egg in Battlefield 1 that got uncovered, a clue led towards an EA website located at ea.com/neverbethesame. Here it appears that EA will be giving more information on the next Battlefield (conveniently called Battlefield V for now) on May 23. The website itself doesn’t reveal anything else though. The background is a simple blue with May 23, 2018 and #battlefield on it. You can see all the work need to access the easter egg in the video below, by YouTuber Westie.

I wasn't even going to read the article because i'm still salty about BF1. I Highly doubt i'll be fooled this time. I'll pick it up in 2019 when they've given all the DLC away for free and is on sale for £20. That's only if there is a single player campaign mind you.
